Funerals
We’ll always be here to help you through one of life’s most difficult times. A funeral is available to everyone, giving support before, during and after the service, for as long as it’s needed.
“Christians believe that when we die God promises that we will be with him in a wonderful place where death and pain are gone forever. Whatever the circumstances of death these words of hope are a great comfort to those who attend a funeral.
We die, we can’t see the person we love anymore, but Christians believe that through the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we will see that person again. It might be in very different form, in a very different way, but that is the Christian hope, and that is what everyone will get when they come to a Church of England funeral.”
There are four possible locations for a Church of England funeral: wherever you choose to have the funeral it will reflect the unique life of the person you knew.
Each person is unique – in personality and in life experience. A Church of England funeral allows you to give thanks for the unique person you knew and loved in a way that gives comfort and hope.
Holding the service in

- If you chose the service in the church, allows more time and flexibility for the content if needed. During the service, there are various points where it may be appropriate to have music played, sung or listened to. This can include hymns and also songs or pieces of non-church music that mean something to you and your family. Please contact us on

Family and friends can be involved too, if they feel able to. There could be special people in your life who you know would like to do a speech or eulogy at your funeral, or do the readings.

- A 35 minute service, taped music,
- The Cemetery
- A short 20min service prior.
- A green or woodland burial site.
